Plan for routine care
Lay out a calendar for observation, watering checks and other locally recommended care. Keep a record of planting dates, weather and any problems. Early notes can help distinguish a seasonal change from a recurring site issue.
Use advice appropriate to the species and your region before pruning or treating a tree. Reserve space for tools and access, and decide who will maintain the orchard during busy periods. A manageable plan is more useful than an ambitious planting without follow-through.
